Preston Soccer Charity Announces First Ever All-Age-Group Sponsorship Agreement13/05/2016
A Preston soccer charity has revealed a new sponsor.
The agreement with Preston-based Bowker BMW (www.bowkerbmw.com) will provide new kits for more than 200 footballers from The Sir Tom Finney Preston Soccer Centre (www.sirtomfinneysc.co.uk/) for the first time in the charity’s 17-year history.
The Soccer Centre teams, from under seven years old to adult, will wear the new kits next season. New kits will also be produced for two female adult teams and four disabled adult teams.
The agreement will last for two seasons with an option for a further two seasons.
For The Sir Tom Finney Preston Soccer Centre and Football Club, chairman Peter Mason, said: “We enjoy some wonderful relationships with many local benefactors. And organisations support us in many ways. But only one of our teams had been sponsored before now.
“We’ve grown quickly over the last two years. We already have 14 teams. And that created a real need for a sponsor for help us with team kits.
“We are delighted that Bowker BMW agreed to support us. It’s a magnificent gesture. Myself, the trustees, the committee and all the players really appreciate it. So much hard work is put in by more than 65 volunteers. We all love what we do. But this will give everyone a huge lift and bring new pride in the Sir Tom Finney shirt.”
The Sir Tom Finney Preston Soccer Centre provides football coaching to children, young people and youth players from all communities across the City of Preston. It creates a safe, fun and controlled environment and includes a wide range of players regardless of ability, disability, sex, colour, race or religious belief.
Bowker has supported the charity for several years. Two years ago, more than 100 players took part in The Bowker MINI Mashup at Cottam Sports Arena.
Bowker BMW managing director Tom Fox said: “There is so much about The Sir Tom Finney Preston Soccer Centre that deserves our praise. At Bowker, many customers and staff love football. And many of us have children who love playing and watching the game too.
“That’s why we are proud to be associated with a charity that provides such a wonderful opportunity for all to enjoy sport – regardless of ability.”
